Any chance you could open a place near where I live?
Starbucks is installing boxes for safe disposal of syringes in the bathrooms of certain locations, following workers' reports of discarded needles and sometimes concerning conditions.
The coffee giant is exploring remedies after employees expressed fears about being pricked by uncapped needles and experiencing related health risks. Starbucks is testing solutions, including installing sharps-disposal boxes, using heavier-duty trash bags to prevent needle pokes, and removing trash cans from certain bathrooms.
"These societal issues affect us all and can sometimes place our partners (employees) in scary situations, which is why we have protocols and resources in place to ensure our partners are out of harm's way," Starbucks representative Reggie Borges told Business Insider.
"My coworkers and I had all experienced needles left behind in the bathroom, store, and even in our drive-thru," said one person who signed the petition after working at a Starbucks location in Lynnwood, Washington, for three years. The three Starbucks employees who spoke with Business Insider for this article asked to either remain anonymous or to be referred to by only their first name, in order to speak frankly.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. What kinds of people go into food establishments to stay all day and not buy anything? Responsible citizens with the budget to buy coffee at Starbucks? Duh.
I was in a very nice DD the other day. No weirdos in the bathroom, either.
As it just so happens, I live in the place where the first Dunks was opened, back in 1950. It's still there, and was recently "retro-vated" to look like the original store-front (the inside is the same as any other Dunkies.) We make jokes about how many Dunks you can find in the greater Boston area. There's literally almost one on every street corner.
Corporate HQ are in Canton, MA, if you want to find out if they plan any new locations near you. Currently, the closest location is at 9860 Manchester Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63119, about 2 miles away. (Yeah, I know you were just kidding...)
Two miles are a lot of miles when you don't own a car, Myrm, I don't care how good the coffee is. I was thinking more along the lines of across the street. Still love to see one there, though. I'd be there every day. :-)
Katherine, Correct. When will these loons realize that actions have consequences? Is there something in the drinking water out there on the left coast? California is rapidly becoming a hell-hole, soon to be followed by Washington and Oregon (at least, the coastal areas. The interior sections of CA have some sane people, but they're outvoted every step of the way.)
The loons in California are completely in charge, with super majorities in the legislature and another crazy governor. My relatives are hanging in -- although most of them vote for the loons, so it's their fault. I only hope the state will be able to pay my brother-in-law's pension until he dies.
