WHAT REMAINS
Notre Dame will rise again. The rebuilt church might very well not be as wonderful as people remember it but it will still be glorious. This picture is why.
What was so beautiful were the soaring columns and the windows. I was so happy to hear that the rose windows have survived, pending inspection and repair work on the lead housings. That photo of the cross lit by the morning sun made me cry.
Millions in Euros have already been pledged for the restoration. Here is one of the better videos showing the damage (surprisingly, a lot less than one would have thought.) The first phase of the restoration has begun with the removal of statuary and architectural features, to be stored in the Louvre.

I am hearing that a number of philanthropists (French, I believe) have already pledged several hundred millions in Euros to rebuild.
Robot-buster, Virginia won, your team lost. Get over it.
Apple has joined in. I am looking to where us plain folk on the street can join in. Not yet ready to trust the Internet.

Rebel, I don't think it's you. The robot buster makes me jump through hoops every time, whether I'm signed into Google or not.

Hey, Chris, have you seen this photo? Christ in the flames.

Meanwhile, who didn't see this coming?
Maybe The New Notre Dame Should Be Less “Overburdened” With Christian Meaning.
As one commenter at the linked site says, "Why not just stick a Minaret on top of it and be done with it?"
Sorry, meant to give credit to Edith Humphrey who posted this yesterday on Facebook.
