Virginia Democratic Congressman Bobby Scott was made aware of allegations of sexual assault against now-Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax over a year ago by the alleged victim herself, ABC News has learned.
Scott learned of the allegations directly from Dr. Vanessa Tyson, who on Wednesday released a statement detailing the alleged 2004 assault, which took place at the Democratic National Convention in Boston.
Fairfax vehemently denies the assault claim.

Democrat soap opera. Make popcorn!
The only problem is that I really believed it when I said that Kavanaugh shouldn't be disqualified over uncorroborated allegations. This story is somewhat more credible than Blasey Ford's, since Fairfax acknowledges that a sexual encounter occurred with this woman when she said it did. He says it was consensual, she says he forced her. She didn't report it to authorities, and didn't mention it to anyone for more than a decade. Maybe it's true, but it can't be confirmed. If a pattern of behavior like this were to emerge, then I'd support removing him from office. A guy who thinks he's important and is inclined to use women might very well have done this again, -- if he did it at all.
Well, she has a lot more than Ford did. Just little things like specific times, specific places, specific people, lack of witnesses DIRECTLY contradicting her account, and a story that doesn't collapse on cursory examination.
So, my comment above was prescient. There is another accuser today, also credible, and there are rumors of others. We'll see.
