The Democrat Party politburo rounds into shape.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said on Tuesday that “there’s no presumption of innocence” for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, because a Senate hearing is not a legal proceeding.
“It’s not a legal proceeding, it’s a fact-finding proceeding…this is standard operating procedure,” Schumer said. “There is no presumption of innocence or guilt when you have a nominee before you.”

Well, it isn't a court, so he's right there. Maybe "preponderance of evidence" might be enough to help an honest Senator decide how to vote, rather than "beyond reasonable doubt." But in the Kavanaugh case there is no evidence to support the accusers other than their own recovered memories thirty years later, and there is no contemporaneous corroborating evidence at all. I don't think even Schumer or Hirono or Feinstein actually believe these accusations. They're just trying to destroy Kavanaugh for political gain.
Hah! Auto-correct just turned "Schumer" into "Schemer." Got one right.
