Quick hint: it ain't the right.
“It is very obvious that Trump is laying the groundwork for claiming victory no matter what,” said Rahna Epting, executive director of MoveOn, and a participant in the FBT call. “Progressive groups at the end of the day believe in our democracy and, while it is not perfect, believe in building upon it and strengthening it. And we will fight to protect it from what we truly see as a president who has gone off the rails and taking this country down an authoritarian fascist path.”
Below the surface, it was even more harrowing. In the simulations, the Trump campaign was “consistently more ruthless than Team Biden,” the authors wrote. The options that Team Trump had to use or misuse included manipulating classified information, selectively releasing “classified documents for political purposes, fueling manufactured rumors,” freezing “assets of individuals and groups the president determines to be a threat,” and restricting “internet communications in the name of national security.”
But the Transition Integrity Project noted that there would be immense pressure on Biden to fight it out if, for the third time in 20 years, the Democratic candidate won the popular vote but didn’t take office. In a simulation they ran, Team Biden “encouraged Western states, particularly California but also Oregon and Washington, and collectively known as ‘Cascadia,’ to secede from the Union” unless structural reforms were made. In exchange for Trump getting the presidency, for instance, Republicans would need to agree to abolish the Electoral College, give Puerto Rico and D.C. statehood, and divide California into five states for better Senate representation.

"Simulations", huh? What a crock. What they mean is, "We came up with some scenarios and brainstormed what would happen if they occurred." There's no way to "simulate" politics on a computer - and even if there were, it would reflect the biases of those who programmed the computer!
In other words, it's propaganda meant to make conservatives look bad.
So, they're recommending that CA, OR, and WA succeed?
Well, unlike the Southern States in the 1860s, we'd say, "Hey, nice knowin' ya. Sorry to see ya go." as we waved Buh-bye!
"seceed" not succeed. Danged auto-correct.
Given that the "Republicans" in this "simulation" were bitter Never-Trumpers, the whole thing was rigged.
What they're really doing is preparing the next, more violent phase, of the "resistance" by the same people who refused to accept the results of the last election. "Protecting our democracy" means if they don't win, they riot.
I honestly don't know. I do think that 2016 was such a fundamental shock to these people that they'll do all that they possibly can not to permit it to happen again.
Whatever that entails.
It apparently entails massive vote fraud.
The other night I had to bail out of listening to Dr. G interview a well-informed man WRT this stuff-- it was just too upsetting to keep hearing more of what all they might do or try. I already know the short answer is *whatever they think they can (or even might) (or know they won't but can create chaos and move the needle some more) get away with*. I couldn't even stick with listening so as to just enjoy the Glorious Gorka Voice, and I do not start from a position of ignorance or naivete...
You have to laugh at the absolute howlers these people utter, totally without irony.
"We love our democracy (by the way, it's a republic, not a democracy, look it up, honey) and we want to strengthen it." Real meaning: "As long as we win, we love our system. If we lose, it must be illegitimate. Because nobody but bumpkins and morons ever votes Republican, and none of them lives within a thousand miles of me so there can't be enough of them to outvote us smart people."
There are a lot of really worried people posing seriously extreme scenarios on major conservative sites such as Powerline and Instapundit. Shooting war. Military coup attempts. "Militia" taking up arms in the streets.
I don't believe the Democrats are so inclined. All they think they have to do is go to the courts, and they have, according to Democrat Party sources, already hired over a thousand lawyers all across the fruited plain to file hundreds of lawsuits, all designed to stall official certification of election results while they fabricate as many votes as they can in an attempt to steal elections as every level. Self-infatuated fools like Brennan and Clapper and the Obamas may think they could get away with a military coup, but that's only because they are delusional about the reactions of the rank and file soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines to any order to take action against the President or their fellow citizens. The rest of the Dems know their best chance is to sow chaos and delay.
My hope and prayer is that Trump is as smart as I think he is, and will be ready for whatever they throw at him.
Oh, I almost forgot. Thank God for the founders who wrote the Constitution as they did, which means there is no such thing as "the national popular vote." It doesn't exist except in the fevered imaginations of the Left. That cannot be repeated often enough or loudly enough.
The Democrat Party is the Party of Narcissists. Narcissism is considered a mental disorder. The leadership of the Democrat Party exhibit the symptoms of the disorder as outlined on the Mayo Clinic website.

These people are sick and need to never have the reins of power.
To carry on with the theme of the thread, they will start with having Antifa/BLM/etc show up at the polling places in swing states to intimidate voters; yes just peaceful protestors with bats, fireworks and any other weapons they can carry. Should Trump prevail at the polls, the Democrats will be demanding that every truckload of unverified ballots they deliver to the counting stations be counted and they will weaponize the judicial system to do this. Also the Democrat Secretaries of State will not certify the vote counts for any Federal office unless they are for Democrats. It will lead to utter chaos which is what they want to then have a military coup by Obama flag officers.
Some have pointed out that if there is no Presidential decision by 20 January, then Nancy Pelosi will be temporary President. I don't see how that can occur if the House of Representatives cannot be fully seated because of uncertified elections as I thought that the Speaker had to be elected at the start of a new Congress. It will be just another excuse for a military coup.
I think the election of Trump in 2016 put the United States over the tipping point to preserve the Union as a Free Country without war because the Democrats so desire a tyranny they will destroy the Country. The coming Civil War will be interesting but when the United Nations (mainly China) marches into our streets it may start a world war.
Remember Lexington and Concord!
Remember The Alamo!
Remember Pearl Harbor!
Fight to preserve Freedom!
@BillB—It takes a lot more than a bunch of Obama-loving flag and general officers to conduct a coup. The number of people who have to be involved in even simple troop movements is large—supply, vehicles, funding, JAG approvals—and then the line soldiers have to be ready to obey what they will know are unlawful orders. The troops swear to uphold the Constitution and laws of the US, not any person or party. In addition, those flag and general officers do not control access to the weapons and ammo; primarily non-commissioned officers do, career military types, very few, if any, of whom will support open treason. More likely, if any of the Obamanistas try to order a coup, the troops will take them into custody and put them in the brig, or just shoot them, if necessary. In other words, pulling off an anti-Trump military coup would require a virtually complete breakdown of authority. I just don’t see that happening. Career military men I know are in full agreement. This is a leftist fantasy, and as you astutely pointed out, most if not all of the prominent lefties and never-Trump “conservatives” are obviously narcissists. They are not living in the real world.
Correct. "I was just following orders" does not fly. Ask the Germans, ask the Japanese, ask Henry Wirz, the Commandant at Andersonville Prison.
Every single member of the armed forces is subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice & is reminded of that at regular & frequest intervals. That an order must be lawful before it can be obeyed is made very, very clear.
It's times like this that I wish we could post pictures here. This just cries out for the "office pool" meme: "OK, who had Civil War for November? Anybody?"
But, I do wonder what it is that the Civil Wars in this country are started by Democrats.
[BTW - there is nothing civil about a civil war.]
[How the hell did Autocorrect come up with frequest from frequent?]
There will be a permanent crisis of legitimacy regardless of who wins in November.
Because the loser isn't going to believe he lost.
Spend the next couple of months prepping and enjoying normal fun American activities. What follows will not be conducive to either.
I think Mr. Price has hit the nail on the head.
Ultimately we are where we are because the mentality of most of the political class (and, in fact, most of the professional-managerial class) is simply incompatible with law, popular government, and a free society. Either we don't have those things, or a great many people have to be stripped of the discretion they now enjoy through one avenue or another. The street-level Democrats I know haven't a clue.
I really think that on some level, Democrats view any elections that Republicans win as illegitimate. That's how fundamental a shock 2016 was; that was supposed to be Hillary's coronation. How much worse will it be if Trump pulls it off again? I don't see Confederate flags suddenly popping up all over the place but I do see us becoming a whole lot less of a nation.
Like Dale said, enjoy what time you have.
I really think that on some level, Democrats view any elections that Republicans win as illegitimate.
That's been true since about 1988. I can't recall when the Southern Strategy discourse appeared, but it's a conduit for declaring all federal victories since 1968 illegitimate.
See for example Michael Kinsley's four year snit after George Bush the Elder won in 1988. Kinsley's not anyone's idea of a fanatic and there were at that time few purveyors of portside topical commentary more willing to go off script. The fiction partisan Democrats generated consequent to that was that Democrats lose because they're too bloody nice, so we promote criminality in office.
