DO-OVER

Here's how this is going to go, Mitt.  If you somehow manage to scrape together enough money to make a primary run against Trump (and I'm not betting that you can), you will be in a LOT worse shape, campaign-wise, than you were seven years ago.  Want to know why?

Basically, a whole lot more people know how to use Internet search boxes now than did back then.  And if they go out on the Web and look, which they will, they'll find out that you were much less of a conservative before your presidential campaign than Trump was before his and that your "deeply-held beliefs" tend to be all over the place.

Mitt, it looks an awful lot like your "deeply-held beliefs" are whatever you think other people want them to be.  And that's not "statesmanlike," Mitt.  It's spineless.

Then there's something that Trump has learned that you apparently refuse to accept.  The American news media is not your friend, the American news media is never going to be your friend and no public professions of respect for "journalism" will ever change that.

The American news media is nothing other than a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Democrat Party and the sooner you accept that fact, the better chance you'll have if you ever do want to make another serious run for the presidency.  Because right now, you might as well take whatever money you raise and burn it for all the good it will do you.

UPDATE: Mitt on Antifa. Savin' this one, Senator.

I suspect this is fake news. Trump's approval ratings among Republicans are quite healthy, and Romney's a practical man. Striking witless poses is something Bill Weld does. Weld's vain and egotistical qualities are explicit. If Romney harbors any, he keeps them well concealed.

You're probably right. The thing about Mitt, though, is what they say about Missouri weather (or New England weather or whatever the weather's like where you're from; pretty much everybody claims this phrase). If you don't like Mitt Romney's position on any given issue, wait a minute. I just think that if enough Never Trumpers, Bill, Erick and the rest of the boys and girls, whisper in Romney's ear that it's possible, it's doable, the American people want this and they not only want this but they want you, that Mitt just might take another run at it.
