BLAST FROM THE PAST

This is actually a pretty impressive achievement.  Change "China" to "Germany," modify one or two minor things, add one or two other minor things, entitle it something along the lines of "Washington Is Needlessly Antagonizing Berlin" and you'd basically have a perfect Washington Post opinion piece.

From 1938.

I saw this story when I was visiting my parents on Friday. My dad had notated it in the print edition (so my mom would notice and read it). Just shook my head.

To paraphrase Instapundit - are they on the payroll, or merely on the team?

When Trump first said it, I thought his "enemy of the people" blast was way too over the top and that somebody in the Administration really needed to put his or her foot down.

I don't think that anymore. Because they keep making it come true.
