If you're thinking of putting your money on Whitless for veep, you might want to invest it in an entirely different direction.
Here's something that may be of interest to the Joe Biden vetting squad: News reports have Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's husband pulling the “don’t-you-know-who-I-am” card with a vacation boat dock worker in the middle of a pandemic that has killed thousands of people in his state.
“No longer visible to the public, Facebook posts from NorthShore Dock LLC and its owner, Tad Dowker, focused on what Dowker said was a request last week by Whitmer's husband, Marc Mallory. The posts have drawn the attention of Republican state lawmakers, who said the Democratic governor's family may not be following her guidance for the rest of the state.
“Whitmer's spokeswoman, Tiffany Brown, didn't confirm or deny Monday the assertions by the marina company or its owner. Brown said the administration wouldn't address ‘every rumor that is spread online.’ …
“‘This morning, I was out working when the office called me, there was a gentleman on hold who wanted his boat in the water before the weekend,’ Dowker posted. ‘Being Memorial weekend and the fact that we started working three weeks late means there is no chance this is going to happen.’ ‘Well our office personnel had explained this to the man and he replied, 'I am the husband to the governor, will this make a difference?'”
Dude! … Your wife is the governor of the state and is in the mix to be the vice president of the United States. And you’re trying to strongarm a boat dock operator in the middle of a deadly pandemic when your wife -- again, the governor! -- has been the face of stay-at-home-stay-safe talk?
Joe being Joe, I think he probably thinks (or whatever it is that his brain does at this point) that he can sell this. And with an appropriately subservient "news media," he probably can.
UPDATE: REALLY, Whitless??

Must be that "Only the Peons have to obey" clause in her executive order. I was also reading elsewhere that she tried to pass it off as "humor". Seriously.
He needed his boat to rake leaves? In May, with or without the boat?
I suppose the most amazing thing to me about the entire lake cabin/boat/leaf raking/he was trying to be funny saga is that Cruella actually got some man to marry her.
