Last July, my rent went up. But for about half of what this idiocy costs, I get an entire apartment, including a room I don't even use except for storage. That the public thoroughfares in and around St. Louis are free of human excrement is an added bonus which costs me nothing.

Don't tell them how much lower the cost of living is elsewhere or those crazies might start moving out of San Fran, metastasizing to the healthy parts of the country.
Thats more than my mortgage. And I live close to work.
