The jury found Weinstein not guilty on the most serious charge, predatory sexual assault, that could have resulted in a life sentence. The most damaging conviction, for the sexual assault of production assistant Mimi Haleyi, would carry a maximum sentence of 25 years. After a judge ordered him sent to jail immediately, Weinstein was hauled out a side door of the courtroom with his hands cuffed in front of him.

I didn't follow the trial at all and so cannot comment on the quality of the evidence presented. He's clearly a creep and I'd have a hard time working up any sympathy for him.
I notice that the news coverage doesn't cite Weinstein's long-time financial support for Democrats. Shh!
